So far the 3rd one works, but the brakes were aligned badly out of the box and the disc was rubbing against the pads when I rode it so I had to spend some time tweaking them with a hex wrench. Back to Best Buy I went and got a 3rd one a couple days ago (unfortunately they don’t have a great selection of other brands or I would have gotten a different kind - I’m 230 lbs and almost all the others they carry have a 220 lb limit). I emailed Hover-1 support and they told me that E1 means a motor hall failure and I should get a replacement. It worked the second time after powering it off, but later on I got the E1 code again. When I turned it on I got a confusing “E1” code on the display, and it wouldn’t accelerate when I pushed the throttle. The second one was defective right out of the box. After 2 weeks though it randomly stopped being able to charge up, so I replaced it. The first one was great at first - no issues out of the box, smooth ride, and I was having a blast commuting 6 miles each way to work on it. Needless to say, I haven’t been impressed at all with the quality of it. ![]() In fact this is my 3rd one in just 4 weeks - first 2 were defective but thankfully I was able to do very quick returns at Best Buy.
